The heart of this branding project was to turn Maya's freelance specialty into a studio, with direct clients, premium fees, and a brand that could scale beyond a single operator.
The challenge was specific. The presence was tied to one person, the positioning led with tools rather than outcomes, and the templated site quietly undercut the work. The practice was capped by its own packaging.
The new brand was built around a single insight, that most marketing problems are structural, and almost nobody in the category is doing considered, structural work with a clear point of view. Gem was positioned to own that middle ground, between freelance specialists and corporate agencies. Six service lines were compressed into two, Foundations and Systems, giving the offer the same structural simplicity as the visual direction.
The logomark carries the same logic. Two intersecting gemstones for Foundations and Systems, meeting to form a diamond at the centre that represents the client the studio is built to serve.
